Improving Students' Vocabulary Mastery By Using Pair Check Method at the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Swasta Al-Washliyah Medan

The determination of scholarship or aid recipients in educational institutions often
faces challenges of subjectivity in the decision-making process, which necessitates an
objective and measurable decision support system. This study aims to compare the
effectiveness of the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method
with the Operational Competitiveness Rating Analysis (OCRA) method in selecting aid
recipients at SMA Pangeran Antasari using a web-based system. The WASPAS method
combines the Weighted Sum Model (WSM) and the Weighted Product Model (WPM)
to produce more stable preference values, while the OCRA method emphasizes relative
efficiency calculations of each alternative against the established criteria. The
research data were obtained from assessment criteria, including economic conditions,
academic achievement, student activity, and family background. The decision support
system was developed on a web-based platform to facilitate accessibility and ensure
transparency in the selection process. The experimental results indicate differences in
recipient rankings between the WASPAS and OCRA methods, providing insights into
which method is more suitable for application in SMA Pangeran Antasari. This study
is expected to serve as a reference for schools in implementing a fairer, more effective,
and transparent aid recipient selection system.
